The Shanhai EDITON was the 2nd property we found and we found it by accident just walking down Nanjing Road shopping and suddenly turned as my nose recognized the unforgettable Le Labo Edition scent.  We went in and immediately felt connected as we ordered a drink at the bar. We knew this was going to be a special place for us for years to come.  On a recent visit, we were chatting with Vivian the amazing GM and we asked her, do you have any sort of challenge to visit all the EDITIONS in the world?  She said no, but let us know if you decide to do it!   Her reply sparked our sense of adventure and we started to plan the official EDITION Passport Challenge.

We wanted our Edition passport adventure to Shanghai to be epic, so we timed it around Robbie's birthday. As luck would have it, it was raining cats and dogs when we arrived. But surprise, surprise! The Shanghai EDITIONS’s welcome team was on it, escorting us into the lobby under a fortress of umbrellas. We felt like VIPs.

Vivian fast-tracked us to our room, and when those elevator doors opened, it was like a magic trick. She pressed floor 25, and our jaws dropped, "Huh? Is this a glitch in the matrix?" Turns out, it was an upgrade to the penthouse! This incredible room has a view of the Shanghai Bund that cannot be put into words.

But the fun had only just begun. They surprised us with a fancy afternoon tea and a balloon birthday bash for Robbie. Since it was Golden Week in China, they even gave us a special moon cake gift box that looked like a mini Shanghai EDTION building. Talk about going the extra mile!

And then came the passport ceremony. Vivian, Taylor and Dennis signed and stamped our passports, and to top it off, they had a custom stamp shaped like the EDITION Shanghai building. Seriously, how cool is that? We even got monogrammed passport holders with our initials on them. We were drowning in love, care, and cake. It was birthday royalty treatment.

The Shanghai EDITION is right in the heart of the action, a tall urban building by the bund and river. The lobby houses a chill restaurant called The Shanghai Tavern and a swanky bar with a pool table, not to mention 3 story high ceiling with hanging plants.  But wait, there's more – they've got a night club, a rooftop bar, a Japanese restaurant, a private theater, and a cozy dining club. It is the BEST hotel in Shanghai.  Seriously, we cannot express our gratitude for this stunning display of hospitality and generosity by Vivian and her team for rolling out the red carpet for us. We can’t wait to see you all again!
