Our adventure with Edition Hotels began back in August 2020 with the Sanya EDITION, and it set the bar sky-high! From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for something special. The grand five-story entryway, complete with a bamboo-lined infinity water feature, made a stunning first impression.  We fell in love at first site. So coming back to the Sanya EDTION for our Passport challenge felt like coming home for a family reunion. 

Check-in was fast, right in our beautiful Terrace suite with amazing views of the water and the central ocean pool. They greeted us with champagne and an NBA-themed treat from the pastry chef, a nod to Robbie’s shoe design career.  Go Mavs (we will get ‘em next year).

This hotel is on a scale like no other. We kicked things off with a fantastic dinner and even got to sing a few songs with the band at Barbacoa. The rooftop pool was perfect for lounging with cocktails, and dining at the Egret restaurant was an unforgettable experience. Celebrating our niece’s birthday was a highlight, featuring a custom pancake breakfast and dinner at the Christian Dior Beach Club.

To balance all the amazing food, we hit the gym most days. The breakfast buffet was a feast, offering everything from a custom noodle bar to a chocolate fountain. When rain canceled our outdoor yoga, Jordi quickly arranged a private session in a villa – talk about bespoke service! We also got a peek at the exclusive private villa reserved for the owner and special events. It was absolutely stunning.

Our final night was like something out of a movie. We were invited to a secret speakeasy, starting in a futuristic room filled with modern sculptures. Max was the hero of the night, finding the hidden door that led us down a long, dark hallway to a fabulous bar and lounge with a wall of old vinyl records. We enjoyed a deconstructed tiramisu and delicious hors d’oeuvres before being led to a private noodle bar, where the GM, Edward, cooked us a special family noodle dish. It was the perfect ending to our stay.

We wrapped up with some duty-free shopping and a bit of relaxation before heading home. The Sanya Edition is a truly amazing place, offering luxury and service like no other.
