The New York EDITION
THE CLOCK TOWERWith just 24 hours in New York, we embarked on a quick journey from The Times Square EDITION to The New York EDITION. The local crew refer to it as the "clock tower," situated within the historic Metropolitan Life Insurance building on Madison Avenue.
To our immense delight, we uncovered an awesome nugget of information – the original Shake Shack stood directly across the street. Despite a drizzle, we hustled our way there, relishing our favorite chicken sandwich while perched on a park bench, using a nearby tree as an impromptu umbrella. Following lunch, we rushed into the lobby just before the skies opened up.
Since we weren't officially checking in, we waited patiently for the front desk to become available, and it was during this moment that we crossed paths with Harrison who helped us get in touch with Elizabeth for our appointment. After a few minutes we were warmly greeted by Ryan and Elizabeth and walked into the lobby lounge for a delightful cup of coffee and great conversation, culminating in their official stamping, dating, and signing of our passports.
Post-signing ceremony, we were graciously offered a tour of the lobby, the signature staircase, the exquisite restaurant and bar featuring the iconic gallery hang we've come to associate with EDITION properties, a vibrant purple pool table, and the seamless integration of historic details with contemporary design. To end our visit, we ascended to the penthouse, treated to breathtaking views of the New York skyline.
Although brief, our visit to The New York EDITION was a pleasure. It is always inspiring to witness the expertise of the EDITION team in crafting exceptional experiences within historic venues.

As we only had 24 hours in New York we didn’t have the pleasure of spending the night at the clock tower. We did have the honor of getting a grand tour of the penthouse suite. A modern comfortable space set in the bones of a classic historic insurance building.
